Farmers Branch is now a certified HEART Safe Community. At the September 5 City Council meeting, Mayor Terry Lynne made the announcement. The Farmers Branch Fire Department, working alongside other area healthcare providers, received the North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council's HEART Safe Community Award. It's a prestigious designation recognizing our Fire Department for protecting Farmers Branch citizens from the effects of heart disease and sudden cardiac death. This certification requires a multi-disciplinary team approach to review and complete the components of the HEART Safe Community Program.
